Netotsi
The name given to a group of Romanies in the 19th century who, according to one account, escaped from slavery in Romania and lived in the forests, resisting all attempts to recapture them. An alternative explanation of their origin is that they fled much earlier- from Maria Theresa's efforts to sedentarize them.
